Review

Story

Set on the backdrop of Australia, Ram (Ramcharan) is an youngster who loves graffiti but he doesn’t believe in love for lifetime. He wants to say truth all the while with respect to love life and live with open mind, open thought and open action with his partner.

This leads to a clash of ideology with Jaanu (Genelia) who studies in the same college and what starts out as a romantic tale between them both turns out to be a relationship of confusion and complications. 

Ram explains this entire story as his flash back while a police cop (Prakash Raj) asks him as a part of informal interrogation (!)

Jaanu believes in everlasting love but given the thought process of Ram, will they be together? Can they really love each other? All this forms the rest of the story. Artists Performance:

Ramcharan did his best to fit the lover boy tag and he was neat in his dance and dialogue delivery. Two things he must avoid- a clean shave and full body shots while in a group. There was no emotional depth in his character so his body language was average.

Genelia was depressing and disappointing. Her costumes were bizarre, the make up was patchy and her face looked blotted. She has lost the innocence and charm. Perhaps it is age but the blame also goes to the styling and her image etching. Performance wise, she was regular and didn’t have any special acts.

Shahzahn comes like a breath of fresh air and though she was brief, she looks cute and attractive. She has the potential to take lead roles.

Prakashraj was regular, Brahmi’s comedy was not upto the mark, Prabhu and Pavitra Lokesh were alright, Vennela Kishore was wasted, Madhurima was quick but sweet, Naga Babu made his presence felt. The others didn’t have much to offer except filling the screens and rolling out few lines.

Final Analysis:

The fundamental blunder in the film is that when speaking about love it should be run on emotions and feeling but not on calculation. To make things worse, Baskar tries to explain the calculation with his own narrative style which was rather confusing. He had something noble and different in mind but he could not conceive it in the right manner on the screen. There is no emotion, no romance, no chemistry between the lead pair, no sentiment and above all, no comedy. At one stage, it becomes like a boring mathematics class where the audience have become students and are trying to understand what Professor Bhaskar is trying to explain on the love algorithm.

The other disappointment is the philosophy on love. While it is nice to have an ocean full of love, it is common sense that love alone is not life. They are two different entities and the essence of life is in striking a balance between both. Fortunately, what Baskar was trying to say ended up confusing many in the theatre but to those who may have understood a fraction of it, this is truly dangerous. On the other hand, there are quite a number of instances where Bhaskar tried to take the route of Gautam Menon but the difference is chalk and cheese.

The good side of the film is the songs and their picturization which was really impressive and visually appealing. Charan’s efforts in songs were commendable. The fight sequence which involves the spray cans was also creative and colorful. As for his much hyped sky diving stunt, that is not so appealing as expected.

Overall, the film is good on presentation but very poor in content and completely blotched on narration and concept. While the masses have nothing in it, the class audience will feel like they are in a classroom. And regarding the mega fans…well, it looks like 2010 is just not their year as their favorite heroes seem to be dealing with unconventional characters.

రామకృష్ణ ఒక ఫుట్ బాల్ ప్లేయర్.అతనికి తండ్రి,ఇద్దరు పెళ్ళయిన అన్నలు,ఒక చెల్లెలూ ఉంటారు.చెల్లి హారిక అంటే రామకృష్ణ కు ప్రాణం.ఆమె చేసే అన్ని తప్పుల్నీ అతను కవర్ చేస్తూ ఉంటాడు.ఆమె ఉన్నట్టుండి ఆమె పెళ్ళి చూపులు జరిగేరోజు నుంచీ కనపడకుండా పోతుంది.ఆమెను కిక్ శ్యామ్ తన అనుచరులతో కలసి వెంటాడుతుండగా,ఆమెను రైల్లోకి లాగి కాపాడతాడు రామకృష్ణ.ఇక్కడ ఇంటర్వెల్.అప్పుడామె తాను కిక్ శ్యామ్ తో పరిచయం ఎలా జరిగిందీ,అతన్ని ఎలా ప్రేమించిందీ,అతను పెళ్ళిచేసుకుని వాళ్ళఊరు తీసుకెళితే అక్కడ ఏమ జరిగిందో అన్నయ్యకు చెప్పుకుని "చిన్నప్పటి నుంచీ చాలా తప్పులు కాసావు.ఈ ఒక్క తప్పు కాసి నన్ను మనింటికి తీసుకెళ్ళన్నయ్యా" అంటూంది. దానికి ఆ అన్నయ్య ఏం చేశాడు...?ఎలా చెల్లి కాపురాన్ని తీర్చిదిద్దాడన్నది మిగిలిన కథ.

ఈ చిత్రానికి హీరో,నిర్మాత అయిన నందమూరి కళ్యాణ్ రామ్ ఈ చిత్రంలో తన పాత్రకు పూర్తి పరిణితితో న్యాయం చేశాడు.చెల్లితో సెంటిమెంట్ సీన్లలో చక్కని నటన కనపరిచాడు.ఇక రౌద్రరసంలో అతని కళ్ళు నిప్పులు కురిపించాయని చెప్పొచ్చు.ఇక డ్యాన్సుల్లో"నాటు కోడి పులుసు"పాటలో ఒంటిచేత్తో ఎగిరి వేసిన స్టెప్పుకి ప్రేక్షకుల నుంచి మంచి స్పందన లభించింది.ఒక విధంగా కళ్యాణ్ రామ్ ఈ చిత్రాన్ని తన భుజాల మీద మోశాదని చెప్పొచ్చు.ఈ చిత్రంతో ఆల్ రౌండ్ ప్రతిభ కనపరిచాడు కళ్యాణ్ రామ్.ఖర్చుకి వెనుకాడకుండా ఈ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించిన నిర్మాణపు విలువలు కూడా చాలా బాగున్నాయి.హీరోయిన్ సనాఖాన్ కి పెద్దగా నటించేందుకు ఏం లేదు.సెంటిమెంట్ సీన్లలో శరణ్య నటన ఈ చిత్రానికి అదనపు ఆకర్షణ.ఈ చిత్రంలో ముఖ్యంగా చెప్పుకోవాల్సింది కోట శ్రీనివాసరావు నటన గురించి.ముత్యం పాత్రలో కోట నటన బహుధా ప్రశంసనీయం.అతని డైలాగ్ మాడ్యులేషన్,నటన,ఎక్స్ ప్రెషన్స్ అన్నీ ప్రత్యేకంగా ఉంటాయి.బ్రహ్మానందం కామెడీ పండింది.ధర్మవరపు పాత్ర కూడా హీరో పాత్ర ఎలివేషన్ కు బాగానే దోహదపడింది.మిగిలిన వారంతా తమ తమ పాత్రలకు న్యాయం చేశారు.

గతంలో అన్నా చెల్లెళ్ళ సెంటిమెంట్ తో అనేక సినిమాలు,ఆనాటి "రక్తసంబంధం" నుంచి నిన్న మొన్నటి "అన్నవరం"వరకూ అనేక చిత్రాలు అలాటి కథలతో వచ్చాయి.ఇది కూడా అలాంటి చిత్రమే.కాకపోతే ట్రీట్ మెంట్ కాస్త విభిన్నంగా ఉండేలా జాగ్రత్తపడ్డారు.

Ram Gopal Varma is back after a long hiatus into the Telugu circuit and he chose his favorite genre of violence, intensity and bloodshed. Let us see how far RGV is successful in convincing

audiences. Let us peep into good and bad in the movie:

StoryNoted MLA Narasimha Reddy (Kitty) has got a trusted aide in the form of Veerabhadriah (Rajendra Gupta) in Anandapuram area.

However, Narasimha’s relative Nagamani Reddy (Kota) is unable to take this for reasons of caste and losing his presence. He plants a seed of friction and in no time, Narasimha Reddy gets Veerabhadriah killed. This enrages Veerabhadriah’s elder son Shankar Ravi (Sushant) and he gets into a killing spree and operates from forests.

Veerabhadriah’s younger son Pratap Ravi (Vivek) who is away from all this gets to know of this and before he realizes, Shankar Ravi also gets killed. He vows revenge on his father and brother’s killers and in this process, Narasimha Reddy, Nagamani Reddy and others are brutally killed. Nagamani Reddy’s son Bukka Reddy (Abhimanyu) who is insane to the core is unable to take this and he becomes Pratap’s main enemy.

Meanwhile, the rise of Pratap as opposite force to Bukka Reddy is noticed by Shivaji Rao (Shatrughan) who sets a new party and he decides to lift Pratap to put an end to Bukka Reddy. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

Vivek Oberoi is an apt choice, his eyes deliver the sufficient emotion of revenge and his body language is intense. He has done full justice to his role.

Abhimanyu Singh is a complete show stealer. His menacing looks and his cold blooded performance will give some spine chilling moments.

Shatrughan Sinha was contained and it must be said that traces of real life N T Rama Rao are quite prominent in his gestures and dialogue delivery.

Kota was perfect, Radhika was naturally appealing, Zarina was neat, Tanikella was impressive and he made his presence felt, Rajendra Gupta was adequate, Sushant was brief, Ashish Vidyarthi was alright, Subhalekha Sudhakar was standard, Subrat Dutta was good, the others did their bit as required and added value.

Highlights:Symbolism shots with respect to showing a cycle in Shivaji Rao (Shatrugan Sinha)’s place (recalling TDP and NTR), usage of left had, addressing as ‘brother’ are impressive. Showing a dog barking after the death of Naga Mani Reddy (Kota) depicts ‘kukka chaavu’..That’s impressive.

Disappointments:RGV’s voice over is overflowing. It’s not a radio drama to explain everything with a voice over. Whatever RGV is saying in voice, is being conveyed visually! It disturbed the mood to some extent.

Pratap Ravi stays in forest as per the dialogue. But he stays in a dusty hill area that hardly looks like a forest. It may sound trivial, but when such observations linger in mind, some audience gets distracted from the mood.

Why Dabbunnoda song? The context is not convincing.

Challenges:The subject chosen is quite hard hitting so one needs to have some background information before actually connecting to the film.

Facing criticism with respect to Shivai Rao’s (a replica of NTR) characterization and converting it into publicity element.

Facing criticism and questions with respect to ‘pedda sir’ (implying YSR) and again converting it into a publicity element

Mood is suddenly dropping down at the conclusion point of the movie. Waiting till Part-2 to get completeness in feeling is a challenge for audience and it’s challenge for maker to sustain interest for 1 month till Part-2 release.

Analysis:“Goodness or badness can never be anyone’s property. They are situational.

If a man is hunger free, he showers only goodness. But if any sort of hunger (be it lust, power craving or greed or vengeance) hits him, he spells badness”.

Rakta Charitra is a fiction based on historical facts.

It’s rather powerful to say that it’s a true depiction of human emotions.

It’s a tour to extreme human beings.

Ramayan or Mahabharat or any chronicled history in dramatic form depicts the extremities of emotions in every character. For example if Karna is known for generosity, its shown with eccentricity of chopping off his own armored skin to offer for a beggar. If Bheeshma is known for sacrifice, its shown in extreme point of choosing life time celibacy to keep himself and his legacy far from kingship. Any drama holds grip only when the characterizations are strong. This fact was known for dramatists right from Veda Vyasa and Valmiki. Similar path is now chosen by Ram Gopal Varma is depicting a historical fact in dramatic form.

He has shown Bukka Reddy as a determined rapist (!) and dedicated murderer (!).The incidents canned around this characterization are extreme in imagination. Pratap Ravi is shown as a bad guy, but for a true reason (since he is chosen to be the hero of the plot).

Ram Gopal Varma is a master of movie making and an expert storyteller. This is seen here yet again. As such, the storyline can be understood in few words and there is nothing unpredictable about it but then it is the way Ramu takes off with each scene and how he gets the viewer into the film which counts.

His screenplay techniques and shot compositions are one of those dexterities he possesses. Perhaps a layman might find the visual appeal to be dim but then there are few flashes of his brilliance which are seen on and off. The focus was more on the emotion of the protagonist and the villain so that is a challenge to handle for more than two hours.

On the other hand, it is not a typical Varma characterization where most of the actors give hard expressions, talk less and convey more. Here the characters speak sufficient and sometimes little verbose!! But still there is a rhythm in their performance and it connects to the regular audience.

On a whole it’s a movie about the raise of a leader.

Bottom-line: For the lovers of realistic violence.

1st Half:

• Movie started with a bit theme song which is very good.

• The movie starts with a good fight showcasing mass elements.

• First song is Yuvakula, as expected. NTR's dance and new style is the highlight of the song.

• NTR is looking classy in the lover boy role while samantha looking hotter in the modern dress.

• 2nd song Eye raja with Kajal aggarwal started.

• Comedy is good until now, venu madhav's comedy spilling laughs in the theater.

• Thaman's Back ground music is fresh.

• Nijamena is the 3rd song. Locations are good in this melodious song.

• So far movie is good with good mix of comedy, romance and music.

• Interval bang, dialogues are awesome.

• 3 fights in the 1st half.

2nd Half:

• The movie is story oriented, presentation is fabulous on the screen.

• 4th song vachadura doosukochadura, the song is picturised in a huge set on NTR, prakash raj, sreehari, Kajal aggarwal and rest of the crew.

• Sentiment seems to be working well until now.

• Movie is going on with good phase.

• Bramhanandam comedy is very good. Playing role of bommarillu bhaskar.

• 5th song is chinnado vaipu, peddado vaipu. song is feast visually with two gorgeous beauties dancing with young tiger NTR.

• Kota's role is good.

• Family audience will like the sentiment in the movie.

• Climax fight in which NTR got injured is well picturised.

Brindavanam has something for everyone - Good Comedy, Good action, Good sentiment, Good Songs. First half is good and second half is average with sentiment. Climax fight and songs are highlight of the movie. NTR is stylish and excelled in acting. Samantha looked better than Kajal aggarwal on screen. Cinematography is top notch. As per the talk of preview show , the movie will be an above average fare. Now its all depends on families and how they receive this film. Lets wait until tomorrow for the final talk of the movie.

        The story line of the movie is weak,trivikram's dialouges have no punch,Bramhanandam was not utilised properly,ali and sunil were ok,Mahesh tried to do a different role and failed.He was looking fabulous and has improved his dancing skills.The movie was stylish but the weak story line makes it a average flick.

After seeing the stupendous success of ‘Athadu’ in Mahesh Babu-Trivikram’s combination, the producer Singanamala Ramesh Babu ventured into another project in the same combination. But it was unfortunate that he had also ventured on another large budget project ‘Puli’ with Pawan Kalyan and hence had to reconcile with either cancellation or postponement or partnering and he chose the last. Thus came in C Kalyan who lent his shoulder by becoming a partner. So this movie titled ‘Mahesh Khaleja’ with such a strong backup of two producers has now shaped up to hit theatres worldwide on October 7th.


In this movie Mahesh is portrayed in a different manner with the certain trace of comedy in his roles. We have seen him as a hero combining action, romantic, sentiments and emotions. Now with this comedy he will probably complete the circle. As a taxi-driver he leads a very regular life. A sudden incident in his life changes his way of thinking and he transforms into a very spiritual and humble natured with a mission to do only good to society and solve their problems one after the other. The heroine Anushka Shetty and the society (village) turn the focus of all his issues and the results turn out to be positive as expected.

Anushka Shetty, who is the present sensation of Tollywood has been a best choice for Trivikram who can churn out an effortless product off Anushka who is capable of doing any kind of roles be it a traditional, deglamourized, or glamorized. This pair Mahesh-Anushka no doubt would sizzle being in their respective top slots. Prakash Raj also like Mani Sharma is mostly a permanent participant in many Mahesh Babu’s films. With the chemistry already well understood there can be no mistake in the product churned out by this combination. Comedy department is totally under the control of the duo Brahmanandam and Sunil, the top ones in the industry. With Mahesh Babu also joining the game the comedy must be dominating any other thing in the movie.

Producers have already faced a loss of about Rs 1 crore which went in flames when the miscreants set the sets ablaze during shooting at Vikarabad near Hyderabad. Later they had to redo the village set somewhere in Rajashtan to complete the film. The songs were shot in Mumbai, Kerala and Ramoji Film City. And a few scenes were shot near Pune at a place called Jejuri, known for its spiritual values.


As seen in the producers’ story the camera also had two contributors. It was initially Sunil Patak and later came the Kodak Award winner Yash Bhatt. Sources say that the desserts in Rajasthan were portrayed so naturally that the scenes will give a feel of once own presence on the screen.


The script of the movie was written by Trivikram Srinivas, where as he claims that Mahesh Babu’s contribution in the script is very notable as he took more interest in discussing the script and altering them suiting the needs of the film.

Mani Sharma’s music for Mahesh Babu’s films are as many and here again they have joined together to give a feast to their fans. The song ‘Sada Shiva’ is already a hit and the entire music album is very trendy. Geetha Arts, known for its lucky hand under Allu Aravind’s leadership has taken over the distribution responsibility.


Mahesh Babu, Trivikram, Mani Sharma, Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, Sunil are the old combination, and now yet another top star Anushka joins the team. Can we not expect a good product if the story happens to capture the audience no doubt it will shake the box office. Finally it’s a typical commercial film with all ingredients of Mahesh qualities and Trivikram’s abilities with Anushka’s glamour, the movie will be a treat for all Mahesh fans who can enjoy his comedy tainted action role.

• Awesome Opening Scenes.

• Taxi song is the 1st song, Song is pretty good with nice dance moments. As of now movie is good.

• 2nd song Boom Boom shaka laka

• Dialogues are top notch, comedy is good in parts.

• Routine story until now but chemistry between hero and heroine is good with a lot of funny scenes.

• Most of the movie shoot in Rajasthan.

• Interval Bang is Extra ordinary. The interval block covers up the entire first half.

1st Half Report:

Mahesh is extraordinary on the screen, Fresh and handsome. Opening scenes and comedy are good in the first half. Fights are clean. 15 minutes before the interval block is huge asset for the film. First half is above average. If second half is better than the first half, the movie can surely become a blockbuster.

2nd Half:

• 2nd half started.

• Sada Siva is the next song. Excellent song, picturisation is on par with the music.

• Scenes are good in parts.

• Sunday Monday song.

• Movie is little slow in the 2nd half.

• Editing is not crisp.

• Makathika is the last song.

• Climax is good.

Final Report:

Its Mahesh's One man show movie with good comedy. The movie is very good in parts but a slow second half will have effect on the movie. Overall the movie can be an above average grosser in Mahesh's career as per preview talk. Lets wait until tomorrow for the final talk and review of Khaleja.

Story:  A technical treat, the story is about Vaseekaran (Rajinikanth) who is a scientist. His life is perfect with his lady love Sana (Aishwarya) and his only aim in life is to come up with a robot that can be useful to save the lives of soldiers in the Indian army. He manages to come up with one like that and names it Chitti (Rajini again). The success of Chitti is not taken well by Vaseekaran’s mentor Dr Bohra (Danny) as he wants to use it for business purpose. However, things take a turn when Vaseekaran is asked to induce feelings to Chitti stating it will not be able to figure out right and wrong without them. Vaseekaran does that but then his new addition begins causing trouble for him. What are those troubles and what happens after that forms the rest of the story. Artist performances: Rajinikanth was good as a scientist and also as a robot. His performance as the robot is more impressive and it may not be much of fun for Rajini fans since there are no histrionics or the regular punch dialogues that gives them the kick. He has been quite contained here. Aishwarya is an asset to the film. Her beauty, her glamour and her glowing looks are sure to catch the breath of the audience and she has proved why she is called one of the most beautiful women in the world. Danny Denzongpa was decent and he carries his role with grace. Santhanam was okay, Cochin Haneefa was brief, Kalabhavan Mani was there for few seconds while the others came and went. Plus points:     * Rajini as robot     * Aishwarya Bachchan     * Visual appeal     * Songs picturization     * Climax action sequence Minus points:          * Music(AR Rahman fails to live up to the standards set by him)      * Few scenes lack logic      * Slow Pace in Second Half      * Run-Time(2 hours 52 minutes) Analysis: The maker attempts to show what happens when a man creates something which is outside the norms of nature. Though superficially, the robot concept serves as user friendly and reducing man efforts, the consequences are severe when there is a slight disturbance in its composition. The first half tends to create a decent feel and it is the second half which goes down on the emotional graph. However, the climax action sequence is worth a treat and it will fetch the brownie points. AR Rahman's music could have been better. At the box office, this will appeal to all sections and is sure to mesmerize. Verdict: Don't Miss It!

Story: Dr Vasi (Rajnikanth) is a scientist with a mission. He wants to create the first robot which would not only serve tea and coffee to its masters but would have the power to serve humanity in more meaningful ways.

He creates Chitti, the humanoid who looks like him and is willing to do anything for him. Trouble begins when he goes a step further and teaches the machine to feel. Chitti falls in love with the professor's girl friend, Sana (Aishwarya Rai) and ends up becoming an almost undefeatable rival in love, courtesy the red chip that a rival scientist (Danny Denzongpa) infuses in him. Can the creator tame the rogue robot or will machine rule over man?

Movie Review: Want to see what mainstream Indian cinema actually means? Go, watch Robot. The last 30 minutes of the film are literally the baap (grandmaster) of all make-believe and end up creating a whole new genre of cinema: the `curry eastern' which stands up as a wholesome alternative to the curry western. For Rajnikanth fans, the climax is definitely a sure-fire way to lose your sanity.

For non-Rajnikanth fans, it's a sure-fire way to understand the mystique and magical allure of Rajni saar, a hero who enjoys a demi-god status in several parts of India. Why? Because there are almost a hundred Rajnikanths eating up helicopters, smashing cars, battering planet earth and creating havoc, like never before. If you thought Terminator, Matrix, Godzilla was fun, then we guarantee you'll fall off your chair with glee as our desi T2-meets-Blade Runner-meets Neo-meets-Godzilla sets the screen on fire in a crazy, vengeance bid. Spoofy, yes. But super fun too.

Robot is primarily designed as an unadulterated tribute to the charisma of Indian cinema's ageless superstar, Rajnikanth. And it's completely, wholeheartedly, joyously desi. Where else would you find a hero who literally shoots with his fingers! What's more important is the fact that you actually don't mind when the bullet whizzes out of his forefinger and hits the man in front in the head. Instant death! Ha Ha!

The high point of Robot are the super quality special effects. All the Spiderman, Batman and Superhero antics of Rajnikanth have been done with exquisite elan by the Stan Winston Studio which reportedly provided the animatrics for films like Jurassic Park and Avatar. And all the stunts have been choreographed by Yuen Woo Ping, the Hong Kong based action director who created the high-adrenalin stunts of classics like Kill Bill and Matrix. Almost 40 per cent of the film's colossal budget (Rs 160 crores) has been spent on special effects, which, at the end of the day, seems all worthwhile. For watching Rajnikanth running horizontal on a speeding train, clambering across burning buildings like Spiderman or mutating into gargantuan monsters does manage to shock and awe the viewer who's out there to have big time fun.

But Robot isn't effect alone. It has a plot too which, if you really pay attention, has a meaning and a message. The film carries forward the man-machine war through interesting twists and turns and creates a lively love triangle between scientist Rajnikanth, medico student, Aishwarya Rai and robot Rajnikanth. Interestingly, the duo make an interesting pair, what with Rajni saar's sundry wigs and sideburns and Aishwarya's tribal `Kilimanjaro-Mohenjodaro' attire. Peppered with colourful songs (AR Rahman) and dances (Prabhu Deva, Raju Sundaram) and high-octane drama, Robot is the perfect getaway film, guaranteed to give you a high with its heady over-the-top Indian flavour. You might just OD (overdose) on the pungent masala fare.
